A search for the information has now been completed within the Ministry of Defence, and I can confirm that information in scope of your request is held. Some information from your request is exempt under Section 21 of the FOIA, because it is reasonably accessible to you by other means. Information about personal equipment supplied by the British Army is already in the public domain and can be found at: http://www.army.mod.uk/equipment/23204.aspx I can however confirm that the costs (excluding VAT) for the SA80A2 are: SA80A2 Basic fit – approximately £1,000 SA80A2 Equipped to fight (does not include night sight) – approximately £4,000 Under section 16 of the FOI Act, it may be helpful for you to know that purchase prices vary depending on quantities ordered, and the figures above relate to the most recent purchase.
